A local walk from the cottages Gingerbread, The Burrow or Chiddy Nook Cottage which is one of the most stunning walks, I think! The walk takes you to the top of Golden Cap. Golden Cap is the highest point on the South West Coast Path and you can see for miles!!
Walking in West Dorset
Start the walk from Gingerbread Cottage, The Burrow or Chiddy Nook Cottage . Go west along the A35 and turn left onto a path near the house called Rick Barton. Head up the hill to Langdon wood, walk towards the sea and make your way up to the top of Golden Cap (don’t forget to take your camera). On a clear day the 360 degree panoramic views are breathtaking. At the top of Golden Cap you can appreciate the stunning Jurassic Coastline. From Golden Cap take the South West Coast Path down to Seatown. Why not treat yourself to some refreshment in one of our locals The Anchor at Seatown. Then head back to Chideock via the Bridleway. Trust me you won’t be disappointed!!
