Snowdrops in Dorset,  their proper name Galanthus doesn’t have quite the same appeal !

Whether you visit for a romantic winter break or with the family for the February half term holidays, you won’t want to miss a ‘snowdrop display’.

Dorset has a few fabulous places where you can see snowdrops popping up their heads.   Snowdrops are among the earliest spring bulbs to bloom…does this mean spring is close by???                                                                                                  Places to visit would be Mapperton Gardens  who have special ‘Snowdrop Sundays’ on the 4th & 11th February 2018.   Kingston Lacy  which is an elegant mansion house set in gardens and parkland.    Compton Valance  a small village approx. 7 miles West of Dorchester & Forde Abbey House & Gardens    is a privately owned and was a former Cistercian monastery.

Stay at Chiddy Nook or Gingerbread Cottage and you will see Snowdrops in the gardens!!
